All good things must come to an end.
Ian had to announce on Saturday that the Jaguars would have to sadly fold due to lack of team members. This is due to the splitting of the 2 age groups into under 16's and under 18's by the league and a lack of new players recruited to fill the gaps left.
Some of the younger Girls will now amalgamate with the Vixens, some of the Girls I understand are joning clubs outside of LTD and we wish them all the best in whatever they do and to continue the success they achieved with the Jaguars last season, good luck all.
There was talk of getting the team back togther again for next year, when the age group will encompass all Jaguars players. So keep in touch with everyone on the social networks and keep your ears to the ground. Remember Sarah has a JAGUARS Facebook group going as well.
Well done all the Jaguars, past and present, for keeping us manic parents entertained. You all did so well over the years and it was a privilege to see you all develop as footballers, freinds and teammates. Good luck in everything you do in the future and hopefully you'll all keep playing football in some form or another. Massive thanks to Ian for his dedication and commitment to our Girls, I think he deserves a big thank you from us all, parents and players alike.
I'll keep this blog open, just in case you want to leave any comments or simply to reminisce about the great games you had last season.
Good luck everyone.

Get recruiting!

Like Ian said on Saturday, we need to concentrate on building up both the under 16s and under 18's Jaguars squads.
OK you lot... It's time to get recruiting!
If everyone of the girls gets one extra player to join up both under 16's and under 18's will have a big enough squad plus subs. So get out there!
A couple of the girls on Saturday mentioned that they might be able to get some players from another disbanded team to come over - go for it!
I've attached an A4 poster that you can print out and put up in your local newsagents, sports centre, college, school or anywhere else you think that people will see it. I've already put some up in Corringham, and if you print out a couple and put them on the back shelve of your car passers by will see them when you park up.

LTD six-a-side Tournament 29th June 2009
On a sweltering hot day the Jaguars fielded two squads in the six-a-side LTD Tournament, both teams played great football and showed rugged determination and commitment, and were obviously eager to get back to playing football after a few weeks off. Well done all, the spectators had a brilliant feast of football.
Here are a few photos taken at the event. I'll put more up on the main website next update (probally beginning of new season) But in the meantime you can 'right-click' on these lo-res versions and upload to your PC or If you want higher resolution versions, make a note of which ones, and get in touch and I'll burn them to CD for you. Be warned... 4 or 5 were taken by Kelly!

Anyone want to write a match report?
Alli and me couldn't make last Saturdays freindly with Barking - anyone fancy posting a quick review on the Jags blog? I understand it was a good game.

10/05/09. RUNWELL HOSPITAL 2 - LTD JAGUARS 1
RUNWELL HOSPITAL 2 - LTD JAGUARS 1. 10/05/09. Great performance to end the season - well done girls!
The 'last' game of the season saw the Jaguars playing the team they had already beaten in the 'first' game of the season. But after a topsey turvey set of league games, 'default awarded' points and 'against-form' results, the outcome was far from certain.
But the Jaguars came out in the first half with all guns blazing and looking like they were up for a classic battle. Brick wall defence work from Sarah, Jade and Alli made sure that the Runwell attack was subdued for most of the match, ferret-like running from Channan and Lauren B kept the midfield balls flooding forward feeding the Jaguars numerous attacks.
Runwell, although nowhere to be seen for 90% of the 1st half, managed to gain a single goal against the run of play in their 1st real attack at goal. 1-0.
The Jaguars showed real character and resilience by not letting their heads drop and continued to pile on the pressure with great runs by Kerry, Kelly and Lauren A. Near misses peppered the Runwell goal mouth from Danielle, Kerry, Paige and Ellis but nothing hit the back of the net. The Runwell goalkeeper having a particularly good match.
The second half continued in much the same fashion with the Jaguars causing the opposition all sorts of problems, with great penetrating runs from Courtney and Jaz. The Jaguars dogged persistence was eventually rewarded with a stinging shot by Paige cracking the back of the Runwell net. Well deserved. 1-1.
Adi had almost nothing to do for most of the game, but still managed to pump in those long kicks into the worried opposition half.
The grit the Jaguars had shown throughout the rest of game looked like it was about to pay off in the last 20 minutes with constant runs opening the Runwell defence. But another goal by the opposition left the fans and parents biting their nails right up to the end. 2-1.
A great display by every single Jaguars player ended a brilliant season for the team, although some of the league results had not gone their way, the improvement in attitude, stamina, passion and skill has been there for all to see.
On the day, the Jaguars look like they can beat any team in this league, the football they have played has been entertaining, visionary and gutsy, showing vast improvement over last season. The Jaguars are now on the map, and the other teams need to look out next season. Congratulations to Ian and the Girls, well done!
FOOTNOTE: For Runwell Hospital this was their last game, ever, as they are disbanding this season. The Jaguars and Management would like to thank the Runwell team for their hospitality, professional attitude and great games. We wish all the girls the best in the future.

26/04/09. HAVERING 4 - LTD JAGUARS 1 (played at LTD home ground)
HAVERING 4 - LTD JAGUARS 1. 26/04/09. Against the run of play... again!
Havering are fast becoming the Jaguars bogey team to beat. Having played them twice already, in league and cup games, and been far the better team on both occasions (yet still coming out the losers) this was surely the day to get a well deserved result. It was not to be. And the same scenario was to play out yet again.
The Jaguars played passionate and well structured football throughout the whole match, dominating large chunks of the game and forcing Havering into their own half for 90% of the game. Yet in the 1st half Havering had just three flukey attacks on goal and scored every time.
Several chances for the Jaguars went wide or came nerve-tangly close, with great runs by Kelly, Kerry, Jaz and Danielle constantly opening up the Havering defence. Kelly had the goal in the back of the net but it was ruled offside, and a cracking corner kick from Paige found Alli's normally solid head but was disallowed for hand-ball.
But, eventually, in the second half The Jaguars had the ball in the back of the net with a scorching shot from Danielle after some great breakaway play from Sarah.
Jade, playing in her new defensive position, proved to be a revelation. Mopping up lose balls, and feeding the midfield with intelligent, accurate passing. Lauren B gave great service on the wing and managed to keep the opposition suppressed along with Ellis's dogged persistent running and Lauren A's accurate lay-off passes.
Adi, having her normally safe-as-houses game in goal (with really little to do) had no chance with Haverings last, well taken goal, from outside the penalty box.
Yet again, Havering came out on top despite being played of the park for the vast majority of the match. The table is looking a bit topsy-turvey at the moment, with teams being awarded points for non-appearences and The Jaguars position not reflecting the real skill and passion they display every time they set foot on the turf. The Jaguars should have nothing to worry about if they can keep this standard of play up. Another 3 points against Runwell next match will help regain a true picture of the massive improvement the Jaguars have made this season.
Well played girls, lets get our revenge on Havering next season.

15/03/09. LTD JAGUARS 0 - HAVERING 4
LTD JAGUARS 0 - HAVERING 4. 15/03/09. Tough game, tough luck.
Having played Havering a few weeks back in the Cup, hopes were high that the Jaguars could build on that great performance and get a result in this league game, it was not to be.
The 1st half settled down into a strong back-and-forth tussle between the two sides, with Havering opening the scoring. Kerry had a flying free kick narrowly miss the net and Danielle thumped a certain goal towards the flapping Havering goalkeeper only to see it ricochet off the post. By the end of the second half Havering had capitalised on there luck and built up a 3 goal lead.
The second half saw the Jaguars start to get hold of the game with tighter defence and sharper passing. Alli and Sarah kept the Havering attacks stifled all day, Channan and Lauren B regularly mopped up any lose balls, and Paige, Courtney, Lauren A and Kelly did a good job in snuffing out the oppositions midfield. Adi made a clutch of incredible saves and great attacking runs and penalty box scrambles by the Jaguars kept them in the match but no more goals resulted. Then Havering sneaked in a forth goal which effectively sealed the game. Despite this, the Jaguars kept pushing forward and showed determination and bags of spirit with Jade, Jaz, Danielle and Fluer keeping their defence busy.
On their day, The Jaguars could have got a result from this tussle, but an on form Havering just proved too elusive today. When compared to the results Havering were getting against The Jaguars last season this is still a massive improvement, and again, if the width of the post hadn't robbed them of an equaliser in the 1st half the match could have turned the Jaguars way. Well done girls great effort, normal trade mark grit, better luck next time.

08/03/09. EKO WHITECAPS 3 - LTD JAGUARS 3
EKO WHITECAPS 3 - LTD JAGUARS 3. 08/03/09 - Terrible weather, brilliant performance!
The 1st half started off with the Jaguars kicking against a strong 'gale-force' wind which proved to be the Whitecaps 'extra' player. Despite dominating the 1st half the Jagaurs found themselves 3 goals down by half time, with a clutch of fluke' goals sailing over the defence's heads carried on the fierce gusts. One Whitecaps 'shot' carried so far, that even the seagulls had to duck!
Even so the spirit and determination never wavered from the Jagaurs, and they kept forcing the majority of the play into the opponents half with stinging runs from Danielle, Paige, Kerry and Jade. Near misses kept the supporters jumping up and down (and thankfully warm).
In the second half the wind decided to drop to a small breeze, so the advantage the Whitcaps had in the 1st half was lost to the Jags. But they didn't let that effect the way they approached the rest of the game.
Brilliant defence play from Sarah, Lauren B, Channan and Alli kept the opponents frustrated in the rare occasions when they threatened. Coupled with Adi's penetrating goal kicks, the midfield dominated the opposition, great holding play and pin-point passing from Courtney, Ellis and Lauren A constantly opened up a new Jaguars attack, eventually resulting in Danielle thumping an unstoppable shot into the back of the net. 3-1.
Then the heavens open-up. Rain and hail stones forced the supporters to huddle up in the dodgy, leaky dug-out, but the Jaguars kept ploughing on with gritty determination.
Kerry then took a free-kick just outside the Whitecaps penalty area. Thwack! 3-2! (I've just heard, David Beckham has asked for video copies so he can study how it was done!).
The pressure from the Jagaurs was relentless. Kelly stormed down the wings causing no end of problems, Kerry was running like a terrier and Jaz kept popping up in the box keeping the defence sweating - Jaz was eventually rewarded with a clinical, well taken goal. 3-3.
Poor Adi spent long periods of the match freezing through lack of action in the Jaguars goalmouth, yet still manged to keep her concentration when needed - someone bring her a hot-water bottle next game.
The game ended with the Jagaurs keeping up the pressure and looking like the 4th goal was never going to be far away.
Despite the initial 3 goal deficeit the Jaguars never gave up. The team spirit and determination was clearly evident during the whole game, and some great looking and entertaining football was dished out for the supporters to keep them warm through the 90 minutes. Skill levels and confidence is coming on leaps and bounds. If not for the weather, this was going to be another Jagaurs win. Well done girls, tremendous football coupled with a gutsy attitude. Not one weak performance throughout the whole squad.

25/02/09. LTD JAGUARS 0 - BARKING 3
LTD JAGUARS 0 - BARKING 3. 25/02/09 - Best team lost
Good strong performances thoughout the team and long periods of play domination sadly didn't result in the result the Jaguars deserved. Barking scored 2 goals in the 1st half, against the run of play, with the Jaguars keeping up pressure and coming off at half time looking much the better team.
The second half continued with the Jaguars taking the game to Barking but somehow both teams contributed to a lacklustre, flat half with few good chances at goal. Barking scored again, despite some solid goalkeeping and defence work by the Jaguars. Half a dozen blistering attacks from the Jaguars split the Barking defence open but didn't result in anything hitting the back of the net.
Overall the Jaguars put on a good, workman like display, were the better team on the day, but just didn't make it count. Promising to note that last season Barking were putting double figure scores into a Jaguars match, now the Jaguars look like a real threat to any team in this divison.
Both teams played in a fair, professional spirit, keep going Jaguars, the results are showing a massive improvement over a relatively short time.

15/02/09. LTD JAGUARS 2 - HAVERING 3 - CUP GAME
CUP GAME: LTD JAGUARS 2 - HAVERING 3. 15/02/09 - We Wuz Robbed!
Everyone was up for a great quarter final Cup clash after a few weeks of 'stop-start' postponements due to weather conditions. The match promised a good tussle with two evenly matched teams coming face-to-face for the first time this season... and it didn't disappoint!
The game ebbed and flowed in the first half with both teams creating chances and near misses, but, despite some brave defending from Alli, Sarah and Channan, it was Havering who scored first and were up by a single goal by half time. The Jaguars never let their spirits flag and showed the normal stubbornness and persistence that has come to be their trade mark. Kelly had an open run on goal cut short by a crunching Havering tackle which left her on the floor, the ref decided to ignore it.
The second half started much as the first half had finished with the Jaguars having the lions share of the play and piling on the pressure. Against the run of play, Havering then grabbed a dubious (but I would say that, wouldn't I) penalty decision: 2-0.
The Jaguars didn't let this set back get them down and kept up the domination and gritty determination that they had shown thoughout. In goal, Adi had a great game, with some key saves giving the defence more and more confidence as the match progressed. Havering then scored a strange fluke goal which had both sets of fans asking "was that in?" - but it counted.
Great runs by Kerry, Kelly, Ellis, Jaz, Coutney and Jade pushed the opponents defence to the limits. The Midfield managed to keep Havering on their toes with great 'mopping' up by Paige, Lauren A and Lauren B.
Pressure piled on from the Jaguars, resulting in them hitting the post 4 or 5 times throughout the game (great attempts by Kerry, Kelly, Jade and Paige). Eventually rewarded by a stinging shot by Paige - Goal!
The second of the Jaguars goals came soon after, with some sustained Jaguars pressure and a well placed strike from Jaz.
With some key players missing, this was a strong, controled performance by the Jaguars, showing some accurate passing and clean looking football. Luck was just not on their side for this game, as on relection, if not for the width of the goal posts, The Jaguars should now be progressing into the next round. But at the end of the day Havering gave a good, fair game and scored the most goals, and that's what counts.
The Jaguars have still to meet Havering in the league, and on this performance, points are up for grabs. So the girls can still get their revenge.
Well done both teams, good entertaining game for the supporters and parents, and played in the right spirit. Well done everyone.

LTD JAGUARS 0 - BRENTWOOD 7. 18/01/09. - Hard luck Jaguars!
Hopes were high after the last few games that we could at least get a draw from this 'top of the table' clash. But despite the Jaguars normal persistence and gutsy performance, it wasn't to be. A combination of a clutch of missing Jaguars players, a quick couple of early goals from the opposition and Brentwood being on top form resulted in a disappointing result.
Adi showed her usual brave goalkeeping prowess with some magnificent saves over the course of the game, and Channan, Danielle and Jade all kept the opposition busy. Everyone gave their all, but ultimately, the best team won.
Still a lot, lot better than the last time we met Brentwood - even without the full team turnout, the Jaguars improvement over the last few months is immense!
Hard luck girls - lets be up for the away leg and show them what you are really made of!

11/01/09. LTD JAGUARS 2 - HALSTEAD 0
LTD JAGUARS 2 - HALSTEAD 0. 11/01/09 - Undefeated at home!
The supporters had hardly enough time to set up their seats and get their wooly-mitts on before they were jumping around and cheering as the Jaguars opened the scoring within the first 2 minutes of the Kick-off. A great strike by Danielle rocketed into the net after some fine supply football by the rest of the team. The first half soon settled into a good tussle between the two sides with the Jaguars having more goal mouth chances on balance. Great runs from Courtney and Ellis kept the pressure up, with Kerry, Danielle and Jade causing loads of problems up front.
By the second half the Jaguars took control, impenetrable defensive play from Ali, Channan, Jamie and Sarah kept the opposition from causing any real danger. The two 'Laurens' both had a solid game with some good running and accurate passing rewarded with a great run at the Halstead defence from Jade and a second, well deserved, goal. The rest of the game was a story of near misses, with great attempts at goal from Fleur, Kelly, Jade and Kerry ('miss of the season') resulting in shoots wide after some well worked chances. Paige had a cracking shot parried over the bar by the Halsteads keeper with a great save. It could have been 5-0 or 6-0. Adi, again, didn't have much too do, which is a sign of the way the game turned out.
Channan showed some great play and determination and Captained from the front. Apart from a couple of brave runs resulting in injuries (Kelly and Courtney) the game was relatively incident free, a professional attitude from both teams resulted in an entertaining game to watch and another 3 points for the Jaguars - Well done girls!

LTD JAGUARS 3 - ECKO WHITECAPS 1. 07/12/08 - GREAT WIN GIRLS!
Congratulations to all the Girls for a fantastic win against Ekco Whitecaps at home on Sunday 7th Dec. Well taken goals from Courtney and Jade (2) topped a really well deserved result. Plenty of goal mouth action by the Jaguars meant the parents and supporters were out of their seats cheering thoughout the game, the score could have been even higher, poor Adi, again, didn't have much to do in the goal but when she was needed she showed her goalkeeping skills to great effect. The win now means the Jaguars are back at the top of the league for the second time this season - well done!
You all showed the normal passion and commitment that has always been evident, a great result and well deserevd!

30/11/08 - Barking Ladies 4 v LTD Jaguars 1
Barking Ladies 4 - LTD Jaguars 1
30/11/08
Despite poor referee decisions, no linesman (?) and a muddy, rain soaked pitch, the Jaguars gave a typical gritty perfomance. The score line didn't do justice to the way the game eventually panned out. Barking did most of the damage in the first half with some well taken goals, the Jaguars started piling on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded by a great goal from Danielle.
The whole team put in another guttsy and entertaining display of football.
A big improvement in perfomance since the last time we met Barking - the Jaguars are now surprising opponents and getting more confident with every game they play.

16/11/08 - WELL PLAYED GIRLS!!!!
Well done to the team for a fantastic game on Sunday 16th Nov.
Well done to the team for a fantastic game on Sunday 16th Nov.
On a grey, drizzly day the parents and supporters were lifted by the Jaguars domination of the game from start to finish and their thoroughly deserved win. In fact the score could well have been 5-0 or 6-0. Everyone showed guts and passion and thoughout the whole squad you all played great looking football. Excellent start to the new league table, here's to more wins.
Anyone know who scored the goals? - I was shouting so much I didn't notice!
Thanks to Ian from the parents and girls for his management and never failing commitment.
